Persuasion Versus Coercion: Getting Clients to Do What We Think Is Best for Them

A client intends to do something the attorney thinks is not great for them; what’s the attorney’s duty?  We’ll look at scenarios that help explain the attorney’s ethical duties to the client.  We’ll talk about Rules 1.2(a), 1.4, and 1.14, Minnesota Rules of Professional Conduct, and other relevant ethical obligations.
